When you live in New York City, you often forget that the rest of the world thinks of running closer to a group of hippies frolicking in the woods instead of an army sponsored by Lululemon sweating in sync at the West Village Equinox. So when I get sent off to Shelton for work, I'm once again reminded of how beautiful and serene running can be. Yes, this is my zen post.
I think everyone should try and get out of the city to work out at some point, just to see what it feels like to actually enjoy running again, rather than trying to hit some mileage or workout goal. Go off the beaten path. Hell, beat your own path. I probably made about a dozen spiders' days in the above picture because they got the opportunity to rebuild their webs in a nicer way. And who knows, maybe you too will finally see what baby Canadian Geese look like.
1 hour. Some number of miles. Feel excited about running again.
